Hints and Recommendations to Farriers
for Best Application of the EponaShoe.
When Nailing
1) The basics are summarized in our article: "Nailing
the Shoe". We have put together some more information on
nailaing here.
2) If you are using our two-part packing under the shoe, then you
may wish to read our article: "Packing
& Nailing the Shoe"
3) The EponaShoe is designed so that crease nail pullers can be
used to pull out a bad nail, but you have to turn the crease pullers
90 degrees from how you would conventionally use them.
4) If you plan to reset the shoe, we recommend that you use crease
pullers to remove one nail at a time when removing the shoe. Prying
the shoe off all at once might help shorten the life of the shoe.
See also our video clips page
-- some of these clips show how to apply the shoe.
When Glueing

1) Most of the information you need is summarized in our article:
"Packing & Gluing
the Shoe"
2) We have some more comments on how well gluing works on
this page.
See also our video clips page
-- some of these clips show how to apply the shoe.
We now have an informational DVD on the EponaShoe which you can
learn about here.
