Carbide-Tip Grip Option
The EponaShoe can be ordered with four carbide-tipped inserts at
the toe, and two more at the heels. The carbide tip projects down
1/16" below the rest of the shoe tread. The carbide tip is
mounted in a steel casing which is flush with the bottom of the
shoe. These drastically reduce wear at the toe, and also provide
extra traction on paved sufaces and other environments. These come
molded into the shoe so there is no mounting work for the farrier,
and so they will not pull out.
Carriage horse owners have given us great feedback on this shoe,
and they are now being evaluated by mounted police and other "street"
users. We have also received interest from endurance riders.

The "Carbide-Tip" Option

Carbide-Tip shoe nailed on with 7 nails on a hind foot.
