Case #6: Treatment of Founder
We believe the EponaShoe to be an aid in recovery from founder.
The images below are a sequence of four radiographs showing the
progression of changing pedal-bone angle as the hoof is trimmed
over time to reduce the angle. In the last image, the angle is approaching
a normal angle. This horse is now sound and under saddle.
In this case, a good farrier and the EponaShoe combined to bring
this horse back to soundness without ever needing to do a hoof wall
resection nor a tenotomy. Of course, laminitis and founder are tricky,
and one cannot and should not predict the outcome with any certainty.
